So, I Just Got Back From Vegas…

I spent the last week in Sin City. Literally…

I’m not sure how much I really want to go into it, but let’s just say that I probably need to spend the next several days doing nothing but praying the Rosary. Holy smokes!

However, there are some things about my trip than I can discuss in a more public forum.

So, the true reason for my trip was the IT/Dev tech conference. I definitely learned quite a bit that I’m going to incorporate into my day to day work practices. If you’re a tech junkie like me and you haven’t been to a conference in Las Vegas let me just say that it’s a double-edged sword.

On one hand, there is such of wealth of information and Vegas generally draws some of the experts in the IT field, but on the other hand it can be torturous to return to the scene of so many “memories.” I guess I should be glad that I don’t actually live there. I mean, how do people actually thrive in Las Vegas? I think every time I go I have weeks sliced off my lifespan. So, it’s also a good thing that I don’t have any friends or family who call Vegas home.

Now, I’m not quite certain who if anyone is actually going to read, or appreciate this post. I know if I stumbled upon a blog about a trip to Las Vegas written by a nerd I would be disappointed if I read about identity and access control for modern applications or practical T-SQL and efficient solutions. I want to hear juicy details.

Well, sorry, I guess that’s just not my style. Besides, you’d probably be way more entertained by watching National Lampoons Vegas Vacation. Damn, I love me some Chevy Chase comedy every now and then. But, I digress…

Anyways…

There really is no point to renting a car if you happen to venture to the Entertainment Capital of the World. Not to brag or anything, but I did happen to find myself in one of the sickest stretch Hummers I’ve ever laid eyes upon. Wraparound leather, mirrored ceilings, fiber optic lights, too many TVs to count, and bass that hits harder than Mike Tyson during his title run. It was like a rolling dance club!

Speaking of dance clubs. I hit up some sick ones while I was there. Was totally feeling bottle service at XS. If you get the chance, make sure to spoil yourself and always remember that it’s not about what you know, it’s about who you know.

Get out there and start talking to the locals and you’ll be amazed at what you find. I was just hanging out at McCarran waiting for my shuttle to arrive and I started talking to some dude. Ended up that he ran the lights and sound at a mega club. Gave me some passes and put me on the list. Easiest club entry ever and definitely impressed the ladies that we met up with earlier in the evening.

So, check the event schedule and get yourself to Vegas for a tech conference. Pretty sure I’ll be back in January for CES. Who knows, maybe we’ll bump into each other.

Oh, I almost forgot, if you’re looking for a limo in Las Vegas, simply click here and book with these guys. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed!

You’re welcome.
